Stronger Foundations

Cancer Rehab

Evidence-informed, exercise-led cancer rehabilitation programme helping people rebuild strength, confidence and capacity through personalised movement, practical education and ongoing support.

You are Strong, But Together, We can Be Stronger!

Build a stronger foundation

Cancer treatment and recovery can change your energy, strength, confidence and relationship with your body. Knowing how much to do — without doing too much or too little — is not always straightforward.

Structure when you need it most

Stronger Foundations gives you a structured and supported place to begin. Over eight weeks, you will receive personalised exercise guidance, practical education and ongoing support to help you move safely, understand your energy and rebuild confidence at a pace that is appropriate for you.

Support in everyday life

Whole-person rehabilitation and education alongside clinical care. Supporting the parts of treatment and recovery that happen between appointments.

With you on the journey

Stronger Foundations is there for you whether you are preparing for treatment, undergoing treatment, recovering from treatment or adapting to life beyond cancer. Hosted at The MAT Clinic, Ampthill, Bedfordshire.

Why Stronger Foundations?

Stronger Foundations helps you build around the care of your medical team, with safe movement, practical support for fatigue and recovery, and tools for the parts of daily life that happen between appointments. It is about giving yourself the strongest possible foundation for treatment, recovery and life beyond cancer.

This programme has been supported by Ampthill vs Cancer as part of the charity's commitment to funding initiatives that improve the wellbeing of people affected by cancer. Ampthill vs Cancer has helped facilitate specialist training and support access to the pilot programme, which is delivered independently by qualified cancer rehabilitation professionals.
